Because Jeff Sessions believes that tough on crime solutions work, wants to double down on the failed war on drugs, has doubled down on failed Mandatory Minimums, and is also doubling down on Civil Asset Forfeiture.
But in case that is not enough for you, today Mr. Sessions decided it would be a good idea to submit amicus arguing that LGBTQ Americans should be stripped of Title VII protections in the workplace on the same day his boss decided to ban Transgendered people from the military.
And if even that isn’t enough for you, the DOJ is also preparing guidance to support the BOP in it’s attempts to allow even more use of constraints on Federal Prisoners.
Yes, POTUS will be able to appoint another terrible AG if he fires Foghorn Leghorn.
No, it is highly unlikely that his new appointee will be as uniquely knowledgeable and well positioned to carry out all of the Administration’s terrible ideas on criminal justice.
