Do We Have a President or a Monarch?
Sure, I thought it was more than bit odd that POTUS saw Harvey as a marketing opportunity:
And it seemed even stranger to me that he didn’t immediately offer all proceeds from the sales of that hat to Harvey relief (and yes, I know that he has now promised to donate a million dollars to Harvey relief, which is great but still a bit dodgy).
Heck, I would be happy if he just talked about the people of Houston as much or more about the size of the storm, about the great Federal and State responses, or about the size of the crowd.
Even more confusing was the televising of this meeting of Faith Leaders in the Oval Office yesterday:
What in the world is this bizarre new type of gathering where everyone in every room has to effusively praise the President one at a time? Do we have a President or a King?
And, shouldn’t the meeting be about prayers for the PEOPLE OF HOUSTON? Is the point Donald Trump’s visionary call for a day of prayer OR the people the day of prayer is FOR?
And this isn’t the first time, remember this Kafkaesque Cabinet Meeting?
Let us also not forget that this is the same President who is erasing all efforts to combat Global Warming from the Federal Government’s to-do lists.
And these staged theatrical events are scary for a different reason, this is a President who never stops talking about Law and Order, misusing the term “Rule of Law” on purpose, and calling for the militarization of the police.
Why is it always all about Donald J. Trump?
