Thanks for the response, if you have read the rest of the series of articles that I have written on this subject, I have answered most of these arguments in almost every one of them.

I can’t win for losing with TV-only fans because they alternately suggest TV is different and that Benioff and Weiss consult with GRRM so it must be okay.

Please note that the Twitter quote agreeing with me was from the two people both GRRM and Benioff and Weiss consult with on continuity and who wrote the book that explains the history of Westeros (The World Of Ice And Fire). I realize that I am fallible, so I ask people who know more than I do when necessary.

My argument since the middle of Season 5 has been that I don’t mind Benioff and Weiss going off-book as long as the route that they take makes logical sense. I only call then out when I think the logic is lacking or that the set-up was poor. I often congratulate them for some of the choices they make as well (if you read my recaps, you need only look at the recap for the Season Finale to see me congratulating them on elements of that episode).
