Not sure I agree with all of this (there are lots of white folks who have been down for the cause from day one and don’t want to replace any leaders)…but some of what you said was incredibly powerful. Most important, IMO, the suggestion that if we white folks are trying to fix racism…we are doing one incomprehensibly bad job of it.

That said, last year I spent the entire winter out in the cold pushing petitions to end gerrymandering and voter suppression, I say that not to suppress or silence your larger point and I am not saying that to encourage sympathy as much as to suggest that at least a minority of our shrinking majority cares pretty deeply about the ongoing disaster known as racism in America….probably not that important honestly, just tipping my cap your way (in an odd kind of way). My point is solidarity (even if you could care less, which would be fine).

Anyway, kudos, great piece!
