My theory, explicated in my recap this week, is that Bran’s Warg is interacting with his Greenseer and he is turning into more tree than human (which is a potential disaster for the realms of human beings). In other words, nobody has really before considered the potential downside to being the only combo Warg/Greenseer in the history of Westeros.

I could not, however, agree with you more both that it sucks that Meera was treated like baggage and also that she deserves a long vacation (with spa and servants).

I think the truth of your point could also be a signal that we have not seen the last of Meera and that she will sadly not be getting the vacation she so richly deserves (but you never know with Benioff and Weiss these days).
