Critical Slipper Failure Seems Imminent
I remember the very first time I used my Movie Pass card at the theater.
I sneaked up to the Kiosk and did everything as quickly and privately as possible and when the ticket actually started printing…I felt like I had gotten away with the crime of the century.
Movie Pass originally offered a HUGE value, was easy to use, and made you feel like you had gotten away with something.
Of course that very positive experience with Movie Pass happened a bit over a year ago when I was one of the early members to join up right after the price drop (well before Movie Pass had even hit a million users).
These days, back here in 2018, things are getting less seamless and more annoying very quickly.

I believe that ease of use and enjoyment are critical to the success of an app.
A few weeks ago I went to see “SOLO: A Star Wars Story” and was prompted to take a picture of my ticket “or else” by the app.
Once I got home, I had a new letter from Movie Pass in my inbox informing me of the new mandatory ticket “picture-taking” rule, reminding me of the rule that says I can’t see the same movie multiple…
