Today’s Wolverine Football News

Let’s Go Blue (Michigan Athletics)

This is a BIG week, Purdue has looked much better than expected and our offense, aside from a few big plays (apparently, we rank 4th in plays of 30 yards or more), has looked less than spectacular.

This is also, obviously the first week of Big 10 play, so let’s hope that the offense gets something going and the defense continues to impress. That said, there was some bad news today.

Tarik Black Is Out, Maybe For The Season

Standout Wide Receiver Tarik Black has a broken foot that will require surgery. According to Coach Harbaugh he is likely done for the year. This is too bad, Tarik scored Michigan’s first touchdown of the year and has shown an ability to create separation throughout the first three games of the season.

This is not good news for an offense that has already been struggling.

Ty Isaac Is Still The Starting RB

Last Week v. USAF (Michigan Athletics)

In somewhat more hopeful news, Coach Harbaugh said that starting RB Ty Isaac was “Okay” after leaving the game with an apparent injury in the game against Air Force. This is really good news considering Isaac has, by far, been Michigan’s most impressive running back this season.

Rashan Gary Suggests We Haven’t Seen Anything Yet

Michigan’s Phenom, Sophomore Defensive End Rashan Gary mentioned in an interview that Michigan hasn’t even started to open the defense up yet. Given how phenomenally the defense has played to date (and how explosive Purdue’s offense has looked in 2017) let’s hope Don Brown (and his mustache) have something special in mind for the Boilers.

Pro Wolverines

Lots of good performances by Wolverines in the NFL this week, but I was particularly impressed by Jourdan Lewis first start with the Cowboys (Jabrill Peppers has also been a bright spot for the 0–2 Browns).

Pretty busy day, we will see what happens tomorrow. The details on the Purdue game (which is being played in West Lafayette):
