Let me answer this one in order:
- Fantasy shows require a lot of suspension of disbelief
Except that GRRM’s approach was to deconstruct traditional fantasy tropes by applying political realism to fantasy (in other words, even if you have a dragon or magic you can still get stabbed for being a terrible King).
2. What is logic anyway
The idea that plots and characters follow an internally consistent logic unless there is a good REASON for suspension of logic. Twists and surprises are made better when the clues were there for you to see if you had just put them together. Twists and surprises are unsatisfying when they are based on nothing and come out of nowhere.
