Should Luke Have Made the Journey to Crait?
Spoilers ahead (if you have not seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi you should probably stop reading now).
A few days ago, noted Star Wars fan Kevin Smith posted his very enjoyable 1.5 hour review of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
I agreed with virtually everything he said (I had few small disagreements about interpretations but nothing major). Here is a link to that review:
Kevin Smith is a few years younger than me but we both saw A New Hope in the theater in 1977 meaning that we have both been fans of the Star Wars universe most of our lives.
At the very end of the review (1:26:25) he lodges one single criticism: That he would have preferred to see Luke physically go to Crait (as opposed to using “Force Projection”) and he also added that there was “no good reason” for Luke not to end the movie (and his life) on Crait at the end of The Last Jedi.
I see where Mr. Smith is coming from but I felt Luke’s move made a great deal of sense in context.
