A Formerly Incarcerated Person Talks About America’s Favorite Prison Show
Several years ago, I embarked on a journey to break down everything I had experienced when I was in prison to people who had never been to prison through the lens of the Netflix show Orange Is the New Black.
Over six seasons of recaps later, I am starting to finish up a project that has been and I suspect will continue to be an incredible experience. It has been incredible because of the stories people have shared with me, the incredibly kind things people have written to me, and the feeling that I have helped to increase empathy for my brothers and sisters in prison.
