Addiction is not a criminal justice problem unless you make it one. There are nations that have dramatically curbed deaths without judicially or extra-judicially killing anyone. Since 1971 in the United States we have cracked down on drug dealers and since 1971 we have NEVER reduced supply at all (but we have incentivized violence and destroyed millions of lives).

The problem isn’t your concern with the health of society, it is with thinking you can beat addiction out of people or kill drugs to death.
